Rules of professional practice and conduct

Our attorneys are registered with the Netherlands Bar Association (Neuhuyskade 94, 2596 XM The Hague). The BAR numbers of our attorneys are given here. They are bound by the rules of professional practice and conduct for members of the Dutch Bar. These rules are available on www.advocatenorde.nl.

Prices of our services

The normal practice of our attorneys is to charge an hourly fee for their services, which precludes the prior agreement of a fixed fee for each type of service. It may be possible to deviate from this rule in exceptional circumstances. Agreements will be made with the client regarding the attorney or attorneys to be assigned in each case. Van Bavel Advocaten will bill for any disbursements made specifically for a given case (e.g. courier charges and travelling expenses). We normally apply VAT at 21% to our services. Van Bavel Advocaten’s attorneys handle legal aid cases under the Legal Aid Act (WRB) only exceptionally.
